Interpretation or translation?

The terms interpretation and translation are often confused, but it is not the same thing! In both cases we can speak of a translation, however a translator translates written text behind his computer whereas an interpreter translates orally usually live on location. Some translators also provide interpreting services and vice versa, but that is not always the case. As a sworn interpreter Dutch – French I exclusively work as an interpreter and only provide interpreting services.

Who is Christine Monnet?

An affinity for international organizations, a love for languages and different cultures, a belief in progressive social causes and politics, and an admiration for the French culture and its gastronomy… I have always loved all these elements and in my work I combine them as a Dutch-French interpreter and language trainer. Since October of 2013 I have been working as an independent freelancer from my hometown Amsterdam.
I have a background in International Business and International Relations and in 2014 I obtained the diploma of the French interpretation course at the University of Applied Sciences for Interpreters and Translators ITV in Utrecht. On the 1st of June 2015 I was sworn in by the courthouse in Amsterdam and since I have been registered at the Dutch national register for sworn interpreters and translators under the number 5406.
